Missing Teeth In the Chart module, at the upper right, click the Missing Teeth tab.
All missing teeth should be recorded at the first visit, generally before entering in any needed treatment. This allows proper selection of pontics for bridges, and is also required when submitting claims. Highlight one or more teeth in the graphical tooth chart. Remember that you can drag to quickly highlight multiple teeth. Mark the teeth missing. Hidden is different from missing. A hidden tooth will be gone completely from the tooth chart, with no way to highlight it in order to add procedures. The most common use for this is when a premolar has been extracted, and the teeth have been orthodontically moved to close the space. You would never have any reason to assign a procedure to the tooth. The fastest way to hide four premolars all at once is to highlight all four and click Hidden. Then, drag to highlight all the teeth posterior to the hidden premolars. Switch to the Movements tab, and click the Mesial + button 3 times to close all the spaces. In the Procedure Code Edit window, some procedures are set with a paint type of Extraction. When these procedures are set complete or entered with status of EO or EC, then the teeth will be marked missing. Deleting the procedures does not make the teeth reappear. You must manually set the teeth not missing.
