Prescription Setup In the Main Menu, select Lists | Prescriptions.
Do not copy the above list for your own use without properly researching each item. This list should contain a list of every prescription your practice commonly uses. The items on the list are only used as templates when writing prescriptions for patients, so items may be freely deleted or changed without any worry of changing any patient data. You will also be able to write prescriptions that are not on this list, so the list does not have to include every possible prescription. Prescriptions are added using either the 'Add New' button or the 'Add Using Selected as Starting Pt.' which bases the new prescription on an existing one. In either case you will be in the prescription editing window:
The Controlled Substance box will cause the DEA# to be displayed as well as optionally send it to a separate Printer. The notes section is only for your use and is not designed to go onto the patient prescription. The alerts in the middle link to the Diseases. This is typically used for allergies. First, add the allergy as a Disease in that section. Then, add the allergy to the desired Rx Template as shown above. If you assign that allergy/disease to a patient in their Medical section, then you will not be able to write an Rx without triggering a warning about the allergy.
To assign a prescription to a patient, see the Prescriptions section in the Chart module. Printing Setup Printing customization is done in the Sheets section. For simplicity, we do not take full advantage of the sheets framework in prescriptions. We don't put the sheet on the screen to let the user draw on in or alter the text. Using the Sheets framework, you should be able to adapt the printing to handle any regulations imposed by your state. Some example of ways you could customize your prescriptions: * Remove various lines, boxes, and wording to enable printing to preprinted Rx forms. * Add a dentist license number. Do this by adding a static text element. * Add an image. * Change the orientation or size. * Change the wording for generic substitution. * Add a second signature line for generic substitution. If you cannot handle local regulations for some reason, please contact us and we will add any additional options that might be needed.
