Tablet PC

A Tablet PC generally has the following capabilities: integrated wireless, 1024x768 resolution or better, and touchscreen capability. The downside is that they tend to be about $1000 more expensive than a laptop, and nearly $2000 more expensive than a desktop computer due to the touchscreen and the compact components.

Open Dental works fine on a Tablet PC since the tablet is just running another variety of Windows XP. It is true that Open Dental does not have any features that are specific to the Tablet PC. It does not take advantage of any of the touchscreen features like pen recognition. But the program itself will function exactly the same as on a desktop, even though you are using a pen to navigate instead of a mouse. You might want to take a look at the Wireless section for ideas regarding security.
