Trojan 

Trojan's website is www.trojanonline.com. They provide insurance benefit information services. The benefit information is stored on a computer in the dental office, and gets frequently updated through the internet. Instead of a direct integration with their database, we have chosen a simpler integration, using an intermediate standalone Trojan program.

First, turn on all the Trojan features in Open Dental from the Program Links window. Find Trojan in the list, double click, check Enable, and OK.

To use Trojan, first use the Trojan program to look up an insurance plan. Then, click Export Plan at the lower right. This exports all the plan info to a text file which Open Dental can import. In the InsPlan Edit window, at the middle right, click Import. This will fill the insurance plan with all the data from Trojan. It will also store a copy of the imported data which can later be viewed using the View Benefits button which is near the Import button.

Each plan is tracked by TrojanID. So as long as you leave the TrojanID in the box in the InsPlan Edit window, the plan will continue to be updated every time Trojan releases a new update. The update to Open Dental is performed after you install your new Trojan data update. Each time you start up Open Dental, it checks for changes in Trojan.
